Northwest Jiu Jitsu Academy proudly presents its first instructional DVD series, the "Basic 12 Curriculum" taught by second-degree Machado black belt Brian J. Johnson. Designed with both the student and instructor in mind, the "Basic 12" is a comprehensive series of lessons on 3 DVDs that build foundational skills, strategies, and techniques that are crucial to a deeper understanding of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The three volumes includes the following lessons: Top Control, Mount to Back, Closed Guard, Pass to Mount, Side Mount, Knee Ride, Mount Escape, Escape to Guard, Guard Attacks, Open Guard, Top Attacks and Takedowns. Not made to be a cache of submissions, nor a comprehensive tutorial on each position, rather the Basic 12 DVD series offers the grappling student the fundamental aspects of some of the most common (and often overlooked) positions and transitions. Each lesson is shown three times from various angles in crystal clear definition, including step by step instructions. Instructors can follow the curriculum as it is laid out and teach a progressive lesson plan that will accelerate student retention rates.
