Rating: excellent set! dvd one is awesome. its all vey basic foot work. but hardly anyone in mma uses footwork. they just walk around following their oppenent trying to strike when they get a chance. thats fine if you can make it work for you. but if want to take it to a higher level you gota know the footwork. awesome to finaly see an mma fighter teach this on video. great set. the kicking techniques a little different then what most mma practitioners are taught. this is karate kicking as opposed to muay thai kicking. both are effective. but the karate way is (soposedly)harder to see coming. anyway again nice to see an mma fighter teach this. not just that same old "ok this is your muay thai skill set" and thats all. theres so much more you can do and machida shows a lot of that here. excellent.

Rating: Amazing technology used to make this DVD and the content is great. Sure, a few "I don't know about that one" but overall very good stuff and also you can really see his Shotokan in this, a very unique set

Rating: I bought it, pretty much blind, as it was new at the time, and I am throughly pleased. What would be considered "advanced training" in many karate classes in America is now available directly and in an easy format to view. The video is not boring either; it keeps a good flow, and the training progression is both logical and well planned. The interviews of Machida are great too.

Rating: Authoritative set. The root in Shotokan is apparent, but the style is all Machida. Best used if you have knowledge of Shotokan or at least Japanese karate. First rate product.

Rating: This is a very good dvd set for many reasons. One, it repeats techniques several times both in slow motion and at normal speed. Two, Lyoto describes not only what to do but what not to do for each techniqe and when to use them. And finally this dvd set covers everything from stand up, to on the ground and every thing between. And the easily accessable repeat technique option on the screen allows you to easily review the techniques over and over. This is better than going to most mma schools, because it is like having private lessons.

Rating: These dvd's are insane. They offer something for everyone from the beginner to a black belt in every art. Machida's style is revolutionary simply because he does nothing more then the basics... and he gives you all of that here. Along with superb content the quality of the Dvd itself is very well done. Victory belt is taking over with their books and not superb dvds. The one complaint is that the person doing the dubbing does not pronounce some of the Japanese words correctly. However this is the only fault with this dvd collection. BUT IT!
