This book disapointed me overall..filled with historical background of silat and some unique stretching methods and i think this book goes around very basic stuff and no weapons which silat is known mostly for so in my opinion i find this book historical and not so forthcoming but good for beginers or those recently involved with training in this art.

To me , the book was not a disappointment, but I would definitely liked if the emphasis had been distributed differently. Namely, the most consuming part of the book is a concise history of Indonesian state, which, in my view could be researched otherwise if there is interest, and some of the technical stuff is just rushed through. Personally, I would prefer it the other way around, but nevertheless, this is a valuable book, and a nice reminder of the greatness of late Pak Suwanda.
