I'm not big on book instructionals, so I'll cover the DVD.

The Masato Kataoka section focuses mainly on moves from spider guard.
There's nothing too crazy. Just several solid moves. There are some basic things as well: a climbing armbar, switching your legs in a triangle choke when the opponent wraps his trapped arm around the same side leg. This is all followed by a fairly entertaining sparring match.
The instruction is easy to follow even if you don't speak japanese.

We then get some moves from mike fowler, a pass to kimura combo, a collar choke, and another pass. I didn't really like the moves as the rely on speed mainly, but everything has its place.

Next, we hit the TT academy. Galvao and Telles some rolling against two others whose names I don't know. There is some smooth stuff in here. Galvao shows a move where you allow a spider guard pass to achieve a turnover followed by an omoplata. Telles demonstrates an open guard pass to knee ride.

There is a large amount of tournament footage, and the dvd closes with us following Galvao around Japan (this seemed kinda pointless to me).

This is a fine DVD, but I don't think it's anything special. I would only watch this once in a while.
