One of the better samurai films I've seen in a while. I've never studied kenjitsu, but the techniques looked smooth and story is during that period of the last samurai making the stand for honor against the foreign technology-guns.

Not an actioner, but a serious drama about the times changing in fuedal Japan.

A romance forbidden by caste, betrayal, vengeance, comedy, and skullduggery are in this rather staright-forward tale.
