Format:	DVD NTSCNTSC is the standard video format used in North America and parts of Asia. This DVD will play on any standard DVD player in North America or other country where NTSC is used. Most relatively new DVD players have the ability to convert signals from NTSC to PAL or vice versa. We sell NTSC and PAL DVDs to customers all over the world on a daily basis without much problem. Occasionaly there are a few customers with older set top DVD players that cannot do a signal conversion. If you have any doubts about the ability of your DVD player to properly convert the signal, please referance your manufacturer's instruction manual. This is for those interested in Judo history "The film of Kyuzo Mifune". The technique on display is impressive. A gem of a DVD. The quality of the black and white film is excellent. This is an historical film worth your money.

Today; 10th dans are a dime a (bakers) dozen. There may be one in your town. You might BE one. But there was a time when being a Ju-dan was an incredible achivement. And there were very few who achieved it.
Kyuzo Mufine was one such and this program is a testament to his dedication to Judo.
The restored film footage is clear and the narration is crisp. A bonus is the inclusing of English subtitling. Double Bonus: footage of a younger Kyuzo Mifune.
Regardless of your discipline, The Essence of Judo is inspirational; and just might improve your technique. It might improve your life.
