The fighting school developed in the Katori Shrine has a history of over 600 years. Long and efficient, full of gorgeous moves and including numerous attack and defense techniques, this is one of the sources of Japanese budo. This is not just an instructional DVD: It also traces the Yuishinkan's history and that of its master, Yoshio Sugino, throughout three Japanese periods: Meiji, Showa, and Heisei. Thus it manages to capture the very essence of this remarkable school.

This demonstration of one of the oldest arts in the koryu is great. Watching Yoshio Sugino is practically inspring, for spirit let alone technique. Covers alot of the Katori Shinto ryu curriculum, so it doesn't disappoint it that department either. If you are interested in the JSA or koryu- get this, and it will be one of the best in your collection.
