Thanks for comment Bradley!

Tim is awesome, and his standup Hsing-I and Bagua is very solid stuff. His relaxed power and flexibility of mind and body are truly awesome to behold in person. He personifies Nei Jia Quan, internal martial arts of China.

Great video! I’m a Tim Cartmell follower (student) for life. He’s the real deal. He teaches you to rely on concepts rather than techniques so that you can win in any situation. Plus, his style of BJJ is more relaxed and flows in such a way that it would truly help the smaller, less athletic student.

Great video! Tim is one of a kind. Cheers

Got it! AWESOME VIDEO!

Really enjoyed this weeks episode. I wasn’t previously familiar with Tim Cartmell and I appreciated his perspectives on BJJ. Also, I think the commentary between Dave and Jake is a welcome addition to the ‘final roll’ which concludes each episode.

GREAT VIDEO. I HAVE A MARTIAL ARTS SCHOOL WHERE I TEACH AN OKINAWAN KARATE CALLED UECHI RYU AND JUJUTSU. I HAD ALREADY PLACED A HIGH VALUE ON THE STOCKADE AS A PIN WITH MY STUDENTS. I REALLY ENJOYED THE OTHER SUBS THAT HE SHOWED FROM THIS POSITION. I ALSO HAD A LOT OF RESPECT FOR HIS HUMBLENESS AND VIEWS ON THE QUESTIONS HE WAS ASKED. GREAT JOB TIM AND KEEP THE GREAT BUDO VIDEOS COMING.

Budo Jake,
A minor detail; Tim learnt San Soo BEFORE going to Taiwan and China. While in Asia, Tim trained in Xingyiquan, Baguazhang, Taijiquan and other Chinese styles. After this he returned to the states and train in BJJ.

Wow, I love this video so much.
Thanks a lot for what you’re doing Budo Jake! I’ve always love these videos, and as a Traditional CMA practitioner this video in particular is great. A lot of my friends have trained with Tim, and he has an impeccable reputation … everyone says he is the MAN!
I am so jealous & wish I was intelligent and dedicated enough to do what you do BJ (lol) … Keep up the good work!
