Tim Tackett was first exposed to martial arts in Taiwan while he was serving
in the Air Force. After training in Hsing-I, Tai Chi, and various Shaolin forms, he opened up his first school in 1966. In 1970, he was accepted as a student in Dan Inosanto's famous "backyard" class and began a course of study that would span the next 40 years. In 1973, Inosanto authorized Tackett to start his own Jeet Kune Do study group, which exists to this day.
