This is a very good book for fundamental and intermediate jiu jitsu techniques. The one caution I would give buyers is that if you already train at an Alliance school and follow the Alliance Phase 1 and Phase 2 curriculum, then most of the techniques in this book will be familiar to you. But on the other hand, if you are an Alliance student, you'll probably want to buy this book to support one of the team's masters and founders. Master "Gigi" Paiva's descriptions of techniques are very clear and I appreciate the "motion arrows" that accompany the pictures, which help show the directions and angles in some of the complex techniques. A very good book at a very reasonable price! Note: I am an Alliance purple belt who trains at a school that is a direct affiliate of Master Paiva, and have trained with him on several occasions.
