Disapointed. I assumed this dvd would show the full matches. it only shows the ippons. unless your looking for a highlights video of judo matches skip it. it was interesting to see how easily some judo black belts are choked out with their own gi. nothing fancy, and nothing hard to get. just simply lapel chokes from sloppy positons. shows real lack of lapel choke defense in judo.

This is a great series that goes straight to what every Judo person wants to see-Ippons. The review from Fabian above comes across as a review from someone that does not participate in Judo. And I challenge him to rondori with some of the high level judo players in this video. These players are the best of the best and they make some of the moves look like they are being executed on pedestrian judoka, only they are representing the best of their country they are representing.

My only criticism with this latest edition of 101 Ippons is that the dvd menu does not allow the viewer to view techniques from specific tournaments. This was a convenient feature available in previous editions of 101 Ippons. Even with this missing feature, the 101 series is still very entertaining and educational. While I realize I won't reach the level of these elite competitors, I still find I can learn something everytime I watch the dvd to improve my judo. And I completely agree with Dave Wise's position when it comes to the first reviewer, fabian.
