Kelly McCann/Jim Grover really knows his stuff. I have yet to be disappointed by any of his videos and this is the fourth one of his that I've bought. With very straight-forward, no-nonsense approaches to close combat, McCann comes off as both a very skilled instructor and a likeable individual. As stated, it is a simplistic system, like most military-oriented, close-quarters systems, it's very much based upon easily recalled, gross-motor movements. Only six basic blade techniques, it's not pretty, so don't expect something flashy like Eskrima or Silat; but it sure appears to be equally effective and utterly lethal. Of the forty or so instructional DVDs I've purchased from Budovideo, Kelly McCann/Jim Grover ranks in my top three favorites, probably number two, actually. Definitely worth checking out!

This is an excellent DVD. Simple material (Which is what material to be used under duress should be). You can really make a couple solid drills from this vid, train the hell out of them, and have the edge over any attacker. The techniques and concepts also work well for a knife sparring competition.
