Rating: Very good quality, but for me a bit too stiff/heavy. Prefer lighter gi's like Keiko...

Rating: PROS: -Snug fit -Very durable (this gi will last forever) -Very stiff collar and material (makes this gi really hard to grab and manipulate. It might actually hurt your opponent's fingers). CONS: -The stiffness of the gi restricts movement. -The material is a bit rough on the skin. -Not very breathable. Almost like wearing a gi made out of jean material. -The pants shrink like crazy. At least a good two inches (only cold wash/ hang dry).

Rating: i have a sirius samurai goldweave(not the UL) and comparing it to the venum power gi, the venum is very light. the collar wasnt as thick as the sirius , but its stiff as hell. out of the box its soft and not very rough

Rating: I run a small academy, and got this kimono on December st a local retailer, my nephew who is also a student got a TKO kimono to start training, and payed about $50 for it, I have done the laundry, same detergents, same water, same drying and washing schedule, and my $200 Venum is falling apart on the wrists and elbows, and fabric on the collar is not doing very well either, and my nephews cheap kimono other than shrinking a little too much at initial washings is holding on very very good, no tears, no problems. On the bright side, it was great while it lasted, the pants look like they will outlive my next 20 kimonos, but the jacket disappointing

Rating: I've had, Bad Boy, Isami (Currently) and Venum gis extensively. My Venum Power Gi is probably my favorite gi for BJJ. The rough jacket (i prefer) is good for grinding in those chokes (as Dustin Denes says: bringing the pain). Who ever said this is a big gi i am 6ft 165lbs and own an a3 that fits perfectly, probably the best fitting gi i own, even over my "custom" isami (only gripe is it is a little larger more like a judoka gi). All in all, this gi is great, cuffs are perfect length and just large enough to snatch those ezekiels, pants are super durable as well. but this is just my experience, i only roll everyday and half the time in this gi.. so what do i know.

Rating: Out of the box it fitted great (5'8" 185lbs) but even though I followed the washing instructions to the letter it has shrunk like crazy so now its more a1 than a2. Nice and tough material though so it would probably last forever. Overall it would have been ideal if it hadn't shrunk so badly Please sign in to add your own review. |
