Author: crazy dragon
Rating: Not the best book in town, but an interesting and informative history of how brazilian jiu jitsu came into being. At least it is one perspective. If Rorion Gracie will get off his high horse and publish his own, this is what we have now. Good read.
Author: The New King
Rating: Boring as bat shit and historically inaccurate this is quite possibly the worst book I have ever read. As much of a legend Maeda is, this book cannot confirm that he was the toughest man alive/the best fighter of his time etc, it is this writers opinion that if you are looking for a autobiography of great warrior, I would wait until Fedor publish's one. In conclusion, don't buy this book, save your money for something relavent!!!

Author: Jens Frones
Rating: A cool, intriguing read where the authors take some artistic freedoms. A major thing to me is that theyre not nececaraly pro Gracie but more interested in painting a picture of Maedas life than portraing him as the origin of BJJ. A colorfull glimpse into the fightworld of the early nineteenhundreds when it was dominated by titans like Frank Gotch, Conde Koma and George Hackensmith. Please sign in to add your own review. |
