Rating: I love it. Igor shows sambo at its best. very easy to learn and the description of how to set up the techs are great. Tons of leg locks which are nice and a great addition to anyones BJJ training.

Rating: I disagree with both the previous reviews. The reasons are the following: i) the number of techniques shown in this series is not so large as one could expect from the title. Any `lesson' contains, in general, one technique on the ground and one standing. But, in different lessons you will see the same technique executed with a different grip, or executed in a slightly different way. Moreover, a couple of lessons are simply: ``Guys, it is time to compete in your club, in your town, etc.'' ...?! ii) Mr. Yakimov execution of throws is 90% physical strength. Timing and unbalancing are poor, or absent at all. Indeed, all sweeps are turned into kicks to the shin and the ankle...! iv) The filming of the series is a little amateur-ish as Mr.Yakimov has no idea whatsoever how to move in front of a camera. The result is that fine details in gripping, or stepping, are often lost by the cameraman. iv) Finally, let me spend a couple of words about Mr. Yakimov Uke. Watch his face: he is telling ``God, what am I doing here....??!!'' It is the worst Uke I have ever seen on a video. He seems to have no idea how to move on a mat and how to provide the proper reactions. He is so inept to realize a ``mission impossible'': he causes Yakimov to fail the execution of a kata-guruma variation!! Do not miss the expression on the face of Yakimov after the ruined first attempt, and how he dumps the guy the second time. This is the ``highest moment'' in the whole series! In the last lessons a new uke is introduced to show the most advanced techniques, better late than ever! In my opinion, the master Kulikov videos and the Yushiro Tanaka three dvds are a much, much better, source for sport sambo, and Tony Lopez series about Combat Sambo is no less than superb!
