The Sword and the Mind is Hiroaki Sato's excellent translantion of Yagyu Munenori's Heiho Kadensho, rich with insight for anyone involved in swordsmanship. Originally intended only for practioners of the Yagyu Shinkage ryu way of swordsmanship, it reviews techniques by just touching upon them lightly, enough for them remain pure and unspoiled from how they were meant to be taught. However, like Miyamoto Musashi's legendary Go Rin no sho, it is also is a must have for all swordsmen for its notes on rythme, training, and spirit necessary for the way of the sword.

This book is an absolute must have, for anyone seeking depth and insight into the Yagyu family's way of the sword.
