It was a very insightful book. I never came from a wrestling background but now I understand ever more detailed about what a wrestler will do and how to counter it. Randy Couture is definatly a great teacher and has proven his techniques in the octagon so you know it's effective. Cutting the angle was one of the most important things I learned and how to attack from the sides as opposed to head on all the time. Combine this with Bj Penn's Mixed Martial Arts and Eddie Bravo's Rubber Guard Book and you'll be one bad SOB.

Great book! Randy starts with wrestling basics, moves on to his specialty of Greco-Roman wrestling, and finishes by showing how to apply these lessons to MMA. Everything from basic tie-ups, leg takedowns, offense from the underhook, cage takedowns, high-impact Greco throws, and punching into the clinch were covered. Great quallity color photos, taken from multiple angles, help the reader understand what's going on. A must-have for the MMA athlete!

This is only the second book Ive seen with real Greco style wrestling but the only one that actually shows how to apply it to MMA. It does a good job of showing how to set things up from the clinch. Great book

THE book on takedowns for SW and MMA!Randy could probably have included more advanced throws but instead you get staple wrestlingtechniques that will work for anyone (provided your prepared to put in the time) even if you have no wrestlingbackground what so ever.
