Written in an understandable language, the book profoundly describes the technical structure of individual fighting actions and their variations, reveals - which is completely new - their mutual relationships, and arranges them accordingly. Further, closing yet another acute lacuna in this field, the book presents also a systematic, all-encompassing tactical analysis of the happening in a karate sports bout. Comprising approximately 160 pages and more than 320 pictures, diagrams and tables, the book is additionally illustrated with a number of old drawings demonstrating that karate has also deep European roots.

Author:

Dr. Rudolf Jakhel is a karate black belt 7th degree. Born in 1942, he has studied in Ljubljana (Slovenia) and Aachen (Germany). After having completed his doctoral degree in the field of economics and social sciences he has worked as a research scientist and university teacher in the United States (Berkeley and Los Angeles), and as an international consultant in Guyana (Georgetown), South America. Presently he lives as a free lancer in Aachen again. The author assumes the responsibilities of the technical director in the Modern Sports Karate Assacociates International (MSKAI) of a member of the technical commission in the European Federation of Associated Karate Disciplines (Federazione Europea Karate Discipline Associate - FEKDA) and is as well in charge of karate sport within the Slovenian Students Sports Association.
