Guerrilla Jiu-jitsu: Revolutionizing Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Book by Dave Camarillo

Flying attacks. Bone-crushing throws. Seamless submissions. Welcome to Dave Camarillo’s Guerrilla Jiu-Jitsu, a groundbreaking system of grappling that integrates the Olympic sport of judo with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, today’s most sought after grappling art. Exposing the techniques and strategy that has allowed Camarillo to devastate the competition at some of the world’s most prestigious judo and jiu-jitsu tournaments and has led his students to more than a dozen victories in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Guerrilla Jiu-Jitsu offers a leg up on virtually every opponent who refuses to stray from the parameters of his discipline. Through descriptive captions and more than eight hundred step-by-step photographs, Camarillo shares the secrets of his fighting style, including grip fighting, transitions from throws to submissions, and nearly two-dozen flying attacks. Come join the revolution that has broken down the barriers hindering the progression of the grappling arts!

The founder of Guerrilla Jiu-Jitsu, Dave Camarillo took over UFC Champion Frank Shamrock’s position as head grappling coach at the American Kickboxing Academy (AKA). He shares his wealth of knowledge in Judo and Jiu-Jitsu at AKA, one of the top gyms in the world, and he coaches professional UFC fighters such as Paul Buenetello, Trevor Prangley, John Fitch, Mike Swick, and Josh Koscheck from the Ultimate Fighter show on Spike TV. He also coaches Pride Fighters Josh Thompson and Phil Baroni.

David Camarillo received his black belt in jiu-jitsu from Ralph Gracie. He also trained under World Judo Champion and four time Olympic medalist Mike Swain. After Camarillo’s terrorizing victories in both the lightweight and open classes at the RG American Jiu-Jitsu Association tournament, Rickson Gracie presented Camarillo with the prestigious award of ‘Most Technical American Jiu-Jitsu Fighter.’ In Judo, Camarillo was Ranked #2 in the nation in 2000.

Dave Camarillo is a black belt in both judo and jiu-jitsu. He currently trains dozens of world-class grapplers and fighters, including many who compete in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Erich Krauss is a professional Muay Thai kickboxer who has trained and competed in Thailand. He is the author of thirteen books.

Great mix of Judo and Jiu-Jitsu. The DVDs have more details but the book is a good complement to the DVDs. Some of the flying attacks may not be appropriate for beginners.

Let me tell you a bit about Dave Camarillo. Dude is awesome point black. He has a black belt in both Judo and Jiu Jitsu. His ground game is top notch stuff and this book is one the best Gi Grappling books out on the market. It will be well worth your money. Trust me

Rating:
This book is really good value from a judo and BJJ genius. Although Camarillo is an MMA coach this book focuses much upon successful applications to sport judo and sport jiujitsu. Of particular interest are the sections on 'gi' grips and 'flying versions' of triangles, armbars and sweeps.

Nobody combines Judo and BJJ better! The gripfighting section was helpful, the follow-ups from throws were innovative, and the flying techniques were unique. Pick it up!
