The quality is wonderful and it stands up to a lot. The addition of a scabbard is very nice, allowing you to wear it at your hip when you aren't using it and draw it quickly! If you're needing a bokken, keep this one in mind.

Good for what I need it for (noto practise, as I do iai). I was a little hesitant at first, as the first thing I saw were the words 'Made in China' prominently displayed on the box, and indeed, some of my other bokuto are more well-made than this, and I'm not sure that I would use this for in-dojo use, or any kind of contact, but, as I said, for general at-home practise, it is a very serviceable weapon (plus the wooden saya looks just too darn cool for words, giving a bit of a shirasaya appearance...it does have a glued-on wooden tsuba, however). Also, the tsuka felt just a bit too long for me; I'm normally a 2.35 shaku guy. Finally, there is no kurigata, so you can't use a sageo with it.
