Yes there is a lot of stuff in here, but I do think think some of these are pretty low percentage, and therefore don't earn this set as many stars. Example: Sideways Indian Death Lock. That move pits one of my legs against two of my opponents...Yeah, I might get that if I was Vince's size. There are a lot of helpful tips in here though. Also, I find it annoying to hear the echo and fan in the background the whole time. Sometimes the camera isn't steady, and I think it would have looked better if the camera man didn't follow them left and right on the mat. I like that the DVD menu makes it easy to find the move you are looking for. It would have been even better to further categorize them, e.g. Straight Locks, Heel Hooks, Shin Locks, etc

Mr. Fields, I Just received your leglock video and was very impressed. I have never viewed an instructional

OK, I personally have over 50 instructional DVD's in my library. Some of them suck, some are OK, some are
good and a few are great. Vincent Field's may just be one the best videos in my collection. 2 DVD's, 135 Leg
Locks and 2.5 hours of instruction. No slow motion. no replays, and free notes available for on-line download.
This is one of those Instructionals that will have you grabbing anyone around you and asking them "Can I
borrow your leg for a minute ?" You will find that the variety and uniqueness of the techniques will keep you
learning for a long time. Most of the moves are very practical and even the tricky/flashy moves have merit.
Vincent shows entries, set-ups, finishes, counters and counter to the counters. Vincent's presentation is
professional, insightfull and easy to follow. I'm telling you, GET THIS DVD!!!

I have been fortunate enough to have trained with Vince at Gokor's, my home dojo, at the Machado Brothers, at
the Ring of Fire Dojo and at the now famous BBQ in the Barrio dojo. Have learned a lot about leglocks(and
grappling in general) from Vince and have just received his brand new Leglock Instructional that has 135
leglock submission set-ups and attacks.
Let me tell you if you want to become an expert with leglocks and like leglocks as I do then this is the leglock
instructional you have been waiting for. From this leglock instructional you will learn many new techniques
that can't be found elsewhere and you'll be able to start using them immediately. This is a must have DVD set
for any grappler. The techniques are shown in detail in 2 DVDs. 2 hours and 37 minures of footage with no
replays!!! Nothing and I mean nothing is held back. Understand what really makes leglocks work. Learn how to
correctly do leglock submissions, entries, setups, defenses, counters and re-counters of your opponents
counter attacks from every position!!!! This DVD set will make your submission grappling game improve
hundreds of times over!!!!

I just received Vincent Fields' seminar video. It is LOADED with useable, unique leg locks. It takes the basic
locks (achilles, heel hook, kneebar, etc.) and demonstrates various entries from advantaged and
disadvantaged positions. He covers each lock in excellent, succinct detail. Many of his approaches, tips are
NOT covered in other series. He thoroughly covers an area all but ignored by other instructors: counters and
escapes to leg locks. These are well worth the cost of the tape. The submissions flow, similiar to an Erik
Paulson tape. Many of the variations seem to have a catch or sambo influence. He relates and understands the
bjj game, however. He does NOT denigrate any art, he does not espouse any approach over any other. He
provides solid instruction and new material. This tape is worth investing in if you want to get better at leg
locking and their counters. As a side note, the first tape sent to me went AWOL via the US postal service.
Vincent immediately sent me a second tape, no questions asked...no delay...only on my word. Good customer
service!

First off, I'd like to say that the customer service that Vince showed prior to my purchasing his tape was
excellent! He gave me straightforward and prompt answers to all my questions, as far as shipping, prices, etc.,
and had more than enough patience when I kept changing my method of payment. Content-wise, the material
is top notch. After reading all the positive reviews I knew I had to watch the tape for myself, and it definitely
meets any/all of my expectations. I never knew that there were so many intricacies to countering leglocks. By
working the techniques, and then adding the possible counters to the techiniques, the leglock tape will
definitely improve by showing you what to look out for. The tape gives excellent understanding of the
fundamentals of doing a leglock submission. The three joints of the leg (ankle, hip, and knee) can move in only
so many ways, but the material covered shows many ways to efficiently hold/leverage an opponent to tweak
those three joints and secure solid submissions. The tape not only covered many ways to enter a submission,
but also how to position one'self to minimize the opponents leverage while attempting counters. If you're
interested at all in leg submissions, you won't be dissapointed if you buy this tape.

I just received Vince's leglock tape. There is so much usefull info on his tape, you could spend a good 6-9
months on practicing it. Vince moves very smooth and fluid for a big guy. (He has to be at least 260 lbs.) The
detail and his explanations are easy to follow. I recommend this tape to anyone interested in expanding their
leglock game. Even if you have been practicing leglocks for a while (which I have), Vince will show something
you haven't seen before. For only $40 dollars, you can't afford not to invest in this tape.

Review by: Ryan Thatcher
Let me start by saying, that I have an extensive collection of leg lock instructional tapes & literature. This
includes instruction from Paulson, Sperry, Cecchine, Yakimov, Taktarov, Chivichyan, Lebell, & Rutten. And this
seminar tape is the best information on leg locks I have seen. I'm not going into detail because that would take
too long. But Vincent Fields is a great teacher and really knows his leg locks. His explanation of a correct heel
hook is worth the price of the entire tape. This is $40 well spent. I guarantee you'll learn something, no matter
how versed you are in leg locks.

I had the pleasure of buying and reviewing Mr. Field's Leg Lock seminar. It is a testament to the quality of the
material that I did not simplyt watch it and go "Cool tape!" I watched it straight through, and then again. Then I
started to take notes, ending up with over 20 pages of details. I have already shown a number of the moves to
my own class. There were MANY locks shown there that I had never seen before. There are tapes with a lots
and lots of moves and little detail, and there are tapes with great detail, but few techniques. Vincent found a
great balance between the two, demonstrating, in detail, over 80 different leg locks drawn from the traditions of
the East and the West and everything in between. lest you think the amount of detail might be overwhelming,
there is even a writen guide to take you through it. This is one of the great price per technique bargains in the
sport!

I can honestly say that this is my favorite training tape. I can not believe how much material is presented. I had
thought of myself as a pretty capable leg submission guy, and I was blown away by this tape. Vince, thank you
so much for this tape. I have trained with a number of today's top fighters and I can't wait to implement the new
material you have shown me when I roll with them again. I am a special operations officer in a major city and I
am presented with many real life fights or situations where my control of an uncooperative individual is a
necessity and your tape is certainly going to expand my arsenal of techniques. Thanks again for this great
tape.

Review by: John Clendenin
The Vincent Fields leglock seminar tape is a tough new addition to the crowded grappling tape market. In fact,
if I could own only one resource on leg submissions, it would be this one. Why such high praise for the work
of a relative unknown? Two words: quantity and quality. Fields, student of such notables as Gene LeBell,
Gokor Chivichyan and Erik Paulson, delivers over 100 moves in one hour and 50 minutes of edited footage.
That number of techniques alone would make this tape a steal at $40, but it's the way Fields teaches that really
stands out. Like any good instructor, Fields knows that grappling is a fluid endeavor, a series of attempted
attacks, counters and set-ups in a race to trap your opponent. To submit a skilled opponent, you have to be
ready for some of your moves to be countered, and to capitalize on any mistakes he might make. With this in
mind, Fields assumes a smart opponent who knows lots of leglocks and counters, and shows you how to deal
with him. In addition to explaining how to perform leg attacks (ankle locks and torques, kneebars, etc.), he
details the things that make them work against resistance: positioning of legs and body to minimize an
opponent's ability to counterattack, the most common counters and defenses to leglocks, plus how to defeat
them, and how to flow from one technique to the next based on an opponent's resistance (Ex.: He twists left to
escape an ankle lock, move to the heel hook.). Most of the techniques deal with attacking from within an
opponent's guard, but Fields covers at least a few options from all the common ground-fighting positions. With
the exception of Paulson, no other video instructor (out of 15 that come to mind) gives a more comprehensive
set of tools for understanding and applying leglocks. This tape contains a wealth of knowledge for both
beginning and advanced grapplers, and I can't recommend it highly enough.

I already own several different leg lock tapes and wasn't expecting to see much from Vincents tape that I
hadn't seen before. However after watching it I was surprised to see several techniques that I hadn't.
Specifically he shows several counters to leg locks that were new to me. What makes this tape unique is that
he shows a leg lock and then the counter (which most people don't show because they want you to think the
technique is unstoppable) and then more possible counters to the counters (if you can follow that) :) He shows
a kneebar from triangle lock that I had never seen, as well as several kneebar counters that I don't believe
appear on any other video tape. The others have summed up Vincents tape very well, all that I can add is BUY
IT!

I have studied BJJ for several years and wanted to brush up/enhance my knowledge of leglocks, which have a
tendency to be overlooked at some BJJ schools. Vince Field's leglock seminar was the perfect purchase.
Right away I saw moves that could be easily incorporated into many of the positions that BJJ stylists find
themselves in. An example of this is from the basic "stack" position that BJJ students are taught on day 1.
Vincent showed a quick little ankle lock from this position that made my eyes pop open because of its
simplicity and effectiveness. Vincent goes through a large variety of moves and positions, and by the end of
the tape I felt like I had learned a whole lot. I bought the tape about a week ago, and have continued watching
parts of the tape over and over again, trying to pick up all the little details of each move. It is my opinion that the
tape is worth far more than 40 bucks.

Review by: goatfury
Excellent seminar given by Mr. Fields. If you end up getting this video, you will be using the rewind button
quite a lot. Vince uses an approach seldom seen in BJJ circles- he shows attacks from very funky positions.
This is probably the most information you can get into a two-hour video without risking burnout, and it is well
worth watching over and over again. I have begun using some of the moves seen on the tapes, and I'll say that
my leglock percentages have increased dramatically since then. I seem to be able to catch people by surprise
with some of the unorthodox moves- but Fields doesn't just go over weird stuff; rather, the basics are
thoroughly covered as well, without being insulting to more advanced practicioners. Whether you're into BJJ,
Sombo, or general MMA, this video is a good choice.

I was lucky enough to get my hands on this tape some time ago. I have only now been able to post a review.
Simply put, if you EVER plan on putting a leg lock on a living resisting person, then you need this tape. Yes,
there may be tapes that show leg locks in a specific context (ie Sambo or NHB, etc); but NONE of them are
going to have the overall knowledge and teaching this tape is going to give you. In other words, this tape is a
MUST buy.

Review by: macdawg
I've done BJJ for 3 years and train no gi outside of class for the last year where I spend most of my time
practicing leglocks, primarily through experimenting and self taught. I have seen a couple other of the
"popular" leg lock tapes and rate this ahead in that while I learned how to get a tight leglock, other material was
left out that I learned in Vincent's tape. Namely, counters, escapes, and new ways of finishing, while adding set
ups, and making sure your leg locks are tight and get the submission on correctly. Good set ups shown, how
do leglock inside someone's open & closed guard. In this sequence I really liked his comments on better ways
of applying what I call the figure 4 toehold, just a keylock on the foot basically, the tips here will make it much
quicker. Vincent's heel hook details of foot position and application were excellent. It took me a long time to
learn how to apply a heel hook with most effectiveness, he added advice here and shows great ways to keep
people from rolling out...and options if he luckily does so. That is why I recommend this tape for beginners as
well, you will have a skilled leglocker give you honest and upfront details on the mechanics so you don't
spend a year trying to learn on your own. Also, there are plenty of advanced moves too, even if you've trained
for years and years you'll find techniques you'll want to use on this tape that you don't use now, it can change
your game. Foot position was an important part of the tape, keeping your feet safe while you attack. I used one
of the counters on the tape my first day in practice after watching the tape, and it worked perfectly. The rear
naked choke defenses are excellent. Someone on your back with hooks is in trouble if you aggressively go for
these holds, will make you much harder to rear naked choke, thats all there is to it. The interesting thing about
them is that their leg will snap before your even close to choked out, so if your doing them in practice let your
partner know, in tournaments...I hope he knows how to tap. Also, seeing these moves should make you more
aware when taking someones back. If your all about finishing opponents, this tape is for you. He holds nothing
back. Thank you for sharing Vincent, good work.

Over the past year I have searched the world over for the best leg lock instructionals on the market. Among the
most notable and my own personal favorites of my collection are Paulsons, Cechines, and yakimov's tapes.
After watching those tapes I felt like I knew everything their is to know about the leg lock world. However, i was
shocked and amazed when i saw Vince's (Vince fields is an extensive student under Gokor Chivichyan, who is
considered by many to be "best leglocker in the world".)tape, which is the best I have seen by far in the genre.
You will also be amazed when you see the HUGE repretoire of moves shown on this tape which includes an
abundance of leg lock counters, a concept that has been totally nonexistent in other leg lock tapes. This one
tape could had been easily stretched to a series, containing more information than most 10 set series I have
seen. However, amazingly you can get this tape for only $40 in opposed to $300. I had a brain cramp after
watching all the moves on this tape. The current trend in which grappling seems to be leaning is with leg locks,
which has sent MMA ethusiast into a frenzy to obtain the most informative tape on the subject matter. I
certainly have not been an exception. If you are included in this "race" than YOU HAVE TO GET THIS TAPE.
For the price, you cant go wrong. The tape starts off commonly with Vince showing avariety of entrances and
leg positionings for leg locks from your opponents guard. From there he goes on to show the basic leg
submissions (straight, achilles, heel hook, etc)with the best detail I have seen yet.Particullary in his explaination
of the heel hook in which he exposes the fallacies of conventional metods of its application and shows a much
more effective method(he even applies it with no hands)which will prevent your opponent from ever rolling out
again. He continues on showing some alternate leg locks from this same basic position in which I have never
seen before. Then he takes you to the half guard. From mindboggling simple moves which will have you asking
yourself,"why didnt I think of that",to advanced, original moves like rolling toe holds and hiplocks that look to
be unstoppable.AMAZING.The tape goes on to show defense and counters to your opponents leg lock
attempts.I was the most excited for this aspect of the tape because they have been totally nonexistent in other
tapes.I WAS NOT DISSAPOINTED.Vince shows the basic defense and then the counter to such holds as the
knee bar, achilles, heelhook, etc, even counters to his own counters he shows. He includes a counter to almost
any leg positioning your opponent could use to attack your legs.thier has never been anything like this on the
market before. One particuliar counter he shows is worth the price $40 of the entire tape.He explains that goker
would tap him with this counter every time he would try to sit back into a leglock from gokers guard.Vince
vindicates this claim by allowing a student to sit back into a leglock from his guard and taps the student within
a second with this amazingly simple and exploitable counter. You can dominate your leg locking partners with
the knowledge of this technique.Vince also shows leg locks from several disadvantaged positions such as the
mount where he shows a simple yet extremely simple method for escaping an opponents mount which he
uses to flow into a leg lock.In demonstrating this move, the student sinks in grapevines with a tight head
control, and actually jumps out of the mount from the pain of this escape.INGENIOUS (you just have to see it)He
also shows a couple counters to your opponents triangle choke with leg locks.Vince explains that gokor
would actually allow his opponents to put him in a triangle because of his confidence in these counters.Vince
also shows a number of leg locks when your opponent has your back.Vince says that he has never choked
from this position since he leaned these counters. Once again he proves the validity of his claim by allowing a
student to apply a rear naked choke on him, and vince beats him to the tap immediately.Included in the video
are leglocks from the bottom half guard, open guard, side control, off of sweeps, and many more. you will just
have to see for yourself.Obviously, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TAPE.

I'm Tony Larson, a college student from Costa Mesa, California. I now train with Fabiano Iha, and I've been
training Bjj for just less than 2 yrs. I started using the techinques from Vincent Field's leg lock video about a
month ago, and my ground game has improved tremendously. The positions are shown over and over, very
clearly, and with detailed explanation. There are also notes that come with the video, and they make it even
easier to practice the moves. Escapes from leg locks are also shown. I play the video some times when I have
friends over, and now 2 of my friends have started training because they thought it looked cool! I was very
impressed by the video, and recommend it highly. I also recommend you watch it alone, BEFORE showing all
your buddies, so you can tap them out first. It's more fun that way!!! Good luck, and God Bless. Any questions,
feel free to email me. tOnY

I recently purchased a Vince Field leg lock video and was amazed at how well it was put together. The video
starts out with Vince explaining the fundamentals of basic leg locks and the correct form in applying
them.Vince seemed very good at explaining more complex submissions in a clear no-nonsense
manner, making it easy to understand. The sound and picture quality is excellent and after viewing it I came
away with a much better understanding of leg submissions and how they are applied. It is the best leg lock
video I have ever watched.

Vince,
Well, after viewing your tape I am definitely glad I purchased it! I also read many of the reviews written in
regards to it. Once again, I have to agree with them. You're an excellent teacher. Your clarity and precision
help to make an intricate art seem much more comprehendible. Thanks for your promptness in re-sending the
tape to me. If you have any others, or do another video in the future, please email me and I will be buying that
one as well!
Thanks again!
