This is THE most detailed instructional on the half guard. From attacking to sweeping to passing, Gordo gives a pretty comprehensive collection of ways to utilize this position. Not only that, he effectively used the half guard on the highest level at the mundials in Brasil. Do yourself a favor and step up your half guard game with this DVD.

After just watching this DVD, I'm reminded of why Gordo is called the "king of the half guard". This is THE most complete instruction I've ever seen on half guard. From passes, pass prevention, and sweeps, it is great for those of us (like me!) who need to change their half guard from a transitionary position to a dangerous position!

A very thorough treatment of this position. Sanginitto does almost all of the talking. The instruction is very solid. There isn't a ton of stuff I haven't seen before. Perhaps this was novel at the time of release, but probably not so much now. My instructor says the same thing. He told me that when he first saw this set a long time ago, it was very cool to him. But watching again more recently, it's just not as impressive. Still, it's very good.

I just got from Brazil where I spent a week training at Gordo's academy he is good man and amazing teacher of Jiu Jitsu. The half guard instruction he gave us is something that I was able to use immediatly to improve my defense and offense off of my back. Very solid detailed instruction.
