This is a very nice set.

Grody focuses heavily on the "breaking the fangs of the snake" principle, with most of the entries having a simultaneous strike to the attacking limb. The evasive footwork takes you to a position of safety so you're okay even if you miss the limb strike or it doesn't have the desired effect. He goes on to show good combos, follow-ups, elbow wrenches, foot traps, takedowns and a few joint locks. He provides a detailed analysis of footwork at the start of the first volume. Still, I would have liked to have seen more shots of footwork in the rest of the program. In spite of that, this series is still one of my favorites. There's a lot of good stuff here.

I consider this my most prized set of videos. I bought these back in '93, and still rewatch them. Steve Grody defined Kali Empty Hands/Pangamot/Panantukan for me and a generation of martial artists. This series covers multiple ranges, skillsets, and strategies. I cannot say enough good things about it. Buy it!
