This techniques aren't for "sport" fighting or training. They are straight to the point. Destroy your opponent in any way you can. The techniques are modified karate, by the looks of it. I question how tried and tested some of them are. You can even see from the above photos how Holifield pulls his hand back to chamber, exposing his head to attack. However, the mindset, offensive weapons, and target selection are spot-on.

To counter the earlier argument, I suspect he's not "chambering". I suspect he's drawing a weapon. His hand-level in perspective to his belt kinda allude to this.

Mr. Burtner is getting alittle too technical regarding Prof. Holifield's fighting style and chambered hand, Who cares whether or not his hand is chambered or not or what is "modified". The bottomline is that the man is dangerous, dangerous enough to train the U.S. military! I know guys in the Special Forces who trained under him and they'll tell you he's one badass!!!
