Principles of aiki-ken and aiki-jo was produced as an instructional tool to aid aikido practitioners as well as other martial artists in understanding the importance of weapons training in correlation to taijutsu (empty hand techniques). Buki waza (weapons training) emphasizes the principles of extension (combative distance), centering, and focuses on aspects of Aikido that are often difficult to perceive when concentrating only on taijutsu. Contents include:

Stephanie Yap is an Aikikai Yondan and also holds a Yondan dan level weapons certification, the Menkyo Kaiden in Aiki-Ken and Aiki-Jo, awarded by Morihiro Saito, 9th dan, caretaker of and sole instructor at the Founder?s dojo in Iwama, Japan. She has considerable training time as an uchi deshi (live in student) for Morihiro Saito and has also trained under other Iwama intructors such as Hitohiro Saito 7th dan (Morihiro Saito's son) ,and Pat Hendricks.

Format:	DVD NTSCNTSC is the standard video format used in North America and parts of Asia. This DVD will play on any standard DVD player in North America or other country where NTSC is used. Most relatively new DVD players have the ability to convert signals from NTSC to PAL or vice versa. We sell NTSC and PAL DVDs to customers all over the world on a daily basis without much problem. Occasionaly there are a few customers with older set top DVD players that cannot do a signal conversion. If you have any doubts about the ability of your DVD player to properly convert the signal, please referance your manufacturer's instruction manual. Because a computer is neither PAL nor NTSC, you should have no problem playing an NTSC or PAL DVD on your computer.

Therefore some DVDs manufactured in Japan for example, will not play in DVD players sold in the United states and vice versa.
