This manual for the complete study of sport judo illustrates judo techniques, teaches auxiliary training methods and how to plan competitive strategy, and discusses the IJF's updated tournament rules and judging standards. Nishioka, a seventh-degree black belt in judo, won the 1967 Pan-American Games gold medal, the 1965 United States AAU National Grand Championship, and the 1965 National Championships. He is also a member of the Black Belt Hall of Fame (1968, Judo Competitor of the Year and 1977, Judo Instructor of the Year). West, a second-degree black belt in judo, received most of his judo instruction from Gene LeBell and Nishioka. Fully illustrated.

I liked this book very much. However it's not a "how to" manual, it's more of a tribute or ode to Judo. Very profound. Recommended.
