The first english book on ninjutsu ever published (1970). This book served as the basis of all of the ninja techniques found in Ashida Kim's "Secrets of the Ninja". It is literally a carbon copy. But this is the original and much better. The information in this book comes from four sources: Masaaki Hatsumi, 34th Grandmaster of Togakure Ryu Ninpo Taijutsu; Heishichiro Okuse, leading scholar on Iga-Ryu ninjutsu and the history of the ninja; Yumio Nawa, another scholar on ninjutsu, a teacher of Hatsumi, and a famous budo master; and Norihiro Iga-Hakuyusai, a person mysteriously connected to iga-ryu ninjutsu somehow. The book is extremely descriptive and has many interesting and informative pictures. If you cannot read Japanese but have always wanted to read what is written in some of the books by authors such as Yumio Nawa or Heishichiro Okuse, then this is your chance to get a sample of that as much of the information on strategy and subterfuge techniques comes from their books. Overall a great book to invest in, but if you are looking for something specifically related to the samurai arts of the bujinkan, genbukan and jinenkan, then I suggest purchasing books by authors from your respective affiliations.
