Masaaki Hatsumi and Shoto Tanemura are the two most widely known and respected sources for instruction on the art of Ninjutsu.
Masaaki Hatsumi is soke, or lineage head of 9 martial art traditions, Hatsumi combined the essence of these teachings and established the Bujinkan (Divine Warrior) Dojo to teach the importance of 'total awareness' through the martial arts. Hatsumi is a large following outside of Japan.
Shoto Tanemura is soke of Takagi Yoshin ryu, Bokuden ryu, Gikan ryu, and Kukishin ryu. Tanemura spreads his teaching under the name of Genbukan Ninpo Bugei and has dojos worldwide.
