- Great Review by matthew rogers
Price Value Quality
This video is an excellent document of Yoseikan Budo as it was practised and taught by Mochizuki Minoru in the 1980s.
Highly ranked teachers under Mochizuki Auge, Washizu, Tezuka and Kenmotsu are all in evidence demonstrating this unique art which blurs the line between aikido, judo and traditional jujutsu.
The twin influences of Kyuzo Mifune and Morihei Ueshiba seem strongly present here and I can't see someone interested in the roots of aikido or judo not being fascinated by the various kata and free form practise in evidence here.
The filming is quite clear and is followed by slow motion closer views of each technique. Though entirely in Japanese it is not until the Mochizuki gives a small lecture at the end of the video that you will feel at a disadvantage. The techniques and kata speak for themselves.
